THE CHALLENGE

Emera, a renowned group of retirement homes and senior residences, stands out for its exceptional services and dynamic growth. Ranked as the 7th largest private retirement residence group in France, Emera prioritizes prestige, proximity, quality, premium service, and a human touch. With a focus on user experience and differentiation, Emera embarked on a mission to revamp its website.

Emera's website faced several challenges. Over 2,500 monthly visitors to the homepage demanded a streamlined and user-friendly experience. Visitors needed to effortlessly find the information they seek. Additionally, Emera needed to differentiate itself from competitors by highlighting its unique value proposition and premium offerings. Finally, ensuring accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities, was crucial.

THE SOLUTION

To address these challenges, Emera implemented a comprehensive redesign strategy that placed the user at the center. User research was conducted to develop a deep understanding of the target audience's needs. This research informed the design of a new website prioritizing ease of use, clear navigation, and informative content.

Inspired by the familiarity and comfort of Airbnb, each establishment on the website is presented in a clear and readable format. This structure allows users to effortlessly share and save information during their search phase. The website's design exudes warmth through beige hues while prioritizing readability and accessibility for all users. This balance creates a welcoming and user-friendly environment.

Key Features

Effortless Navigation: The website boasts a streamlined interface with clear menus and intuitive search functionality. Users can quickly find information about specific establishments or browse by location, amenities, and care levels.

Crystal-Clear Establishment Pages: Each establishment page is presented in a clear and concise format, showcasing high-quality photos, detailed descriptions of services and amenities, and virtual tours (if available). Users can easily compare different establishments based on their needs.

Content Tailored to Users: Content is carefully crafted to address the concerns and priorities of adult children searching for senior living options for their parents. The website provides informative articles on topics like aging well, choosing the right care facility, and navigating the financial aspects of senior living.

Accessibility for All: Emera prioritizes accessibility for all users. The website adheres to WCAG guidelines and incorporates features like screen reader compatibility, enlarged text options, and clear color contrast.
